A retro dessert that needs to make a comeback—rich fudgy chocolate cake topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting. Totally worth a try!
Ingredients:
First Layer
1 box of fudge cake mix
1 stick of softened butter
1 egg
Second Layer
8 oz package of cream cheese
2 eggs
1 box of powdered sugar (16 oz)
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350
Cut softened butter into cake mix, add the egg and mix with a hand mixer on low until smooth
Pat into a square 8x8 baking sheet lined with parchment paper
In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, 2 eggs, powdered sugar, vanilla and salt until smooth
Pour over first layer, bake for 35 minutes
Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares
