Sesame Chicken

Hands down, Sesame Chicken is my family's favorite takeout dish. This is a great recipe for making it at home.

Ingredients:
  • 1-2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch chunks

  • 1/4 cup sesame seed

  • 3 tbs oil

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce

  • 2 tbs brown sugar

  • 3/4 tsp ground ginger

  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced

  • 4 scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions
  • In a large skillet add the oil and sesame seeds; cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the seeds are golden

  • Allow seeds to cool. Add the soy sauce, sugar, ginger, garlic and scallions and stir to combine

  • Add the chicken chunks, covering in the sauce completely

  • Add chicken to a baking sheet covered in foil; Cover and marinate for 1 hour

  • When you are ready to cook the chicken, turn the oven to broil; cook for about 10 minutes remove the chicken, flip and cook for another 5 minutes
